30/08/08 - ONE MONTH LATER...

Hello! It's not on the site but I'm a freelance animator and this is the big project I've been working on:

See that DVD on the front? That's over 15 minutes of animated, highly-detailed vehicular action! Using the author's illustrations I've created an animation of each page, there's cats in submarines, flaminogos flying helicopters and bears racing go-karts, the lot! Now granted this may not be for all of you that visit, it's rated U by the BBFC and nothing like the animations on this site, more for the people with kids or your little brother or sister. So if you think they'll dig it then search your local Amazon or whichever bookstore you prefer for the title, this book is going worldwide so hopefully they'll stock it.

Captive State release their Elmore Grove EP on Monday, you can view the video in the post just below this one or go to their myspace page and order the cd. The fella who runs Promo News had some very nice things to say about the video, bookmark that sucker because I watched out a ton of awesome videos because of it. I also found another site called Sleevage, all about music cover art. I really dig the The Queens of the Stone Age covers they've showcased.

Hopefully Chip Shop Adventures will be back around October, defintely by the end of the year so stick around and I shall be back soon!

30/07/08 - NEW MUSIC VIDEO! Captive State - Mona

Here's a brand new music video I've animated for the fantastic band Captive State. It's called Mona and it's from their debut EP, Elmore Grove. Click the toast above to watch it and also check out their myspace page to listen to the rest of the EP which will be available to buy on the 1st of September.

We've got some extras too, if you're hot for wallpapers then we have them in a variety of scenes and sizes along with some user icons, click the links below to spluge out with those and I shall return as fast as I can with some rockin' Chips.

10/07/08 - Work.

CHIP SHOP IS DEAD....for a month or so.

By then this work will have quietened down a lot and I can get to work on some quality Chips. So take care and I shall bid you good day, only to return at the end of August with my arms full of comics for your sexy eyes.

In the meantime if you're craving comics, then go click yourself silly at Transplant Comics!

27/06/08 - One Friday, if you please.

Watch out! I can see into the near future and you're going to get Chip Shop Adventures #228, chock-full of detail, RAMMED INTO YOUR EYEBALLS.

Not just that but I guest-stripped the hell out of Hockey Zombie.
Rock that weekend!

22/06/08 - Close call

Damn, that was a close one! You guys were all huddled in your respective corners, rocking back and forth, Chip Shop withdrawels got you but the scruff of your asses. Well, better late than never:
Chip Shop Adventures #227. TOODLES.

13/06/08 - Friday the 13th, suckers!

Rockin' your faces on the unluckiest day of the year! If you believe in such junk, but rock forth with THIS for protection if you do:

Chip Shop Adventures #226.

07/06/08 - J-j-j-j-juuune.

Welcome to another Friday, here's your Chip Shop Adventures #225 and your complimentory bag of hard-boiled sweets, you know the ones. They've got black and white stripes, you suck 'em for a bit then after a little while you think you can bite them.

So you try but they just get stuck to your teeth, so you've got to tongue it off with your tongue and bide your time... BIDE IT GOOD. This strip turned into a little arc so I'll see you back here in exactly one weeks time!

30/05/08 - Evening all!

As promised here is Chip Shop Adventures #224 and I've got a good start on next weeks so who knows what might happen! You'll get another comic. There, I've spoilt the future for you. Till next time!

28/05/08 - WINNER!

For any peeps that check in early for some reason, there will indeed be a strip this Friday. Next up: THE APOCALYPSE.

23/05/08 - Doritos.

Ugh, Friday, here again and here I am comicless but here's something I made unexpectedly last week. After I uploaded my Ghosts entry I spotted another competition and the deadline was only five days away. It was a bit of a rush job but here it is: Doritos advert - "Peoples"

Slightly less violence this time, enjoy!

16/05/08 - Ghosties.

Unfortunately I have no comic for you guys this week, but I do have one of the bazillion projects I'm working on at the moment. It's an entry for the Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts Film Festival

I'll get some stills up in a little bit, youtube fuzzyness removes all the damn grain I spent tweaking. Yeah that's what I do with my spare time. I tweak grain. It gets a little violent so be warned! I hope to see you next week with some comics tucked under my wing, I AM AN EAGLE.

09/05/08 - Platipus. That is all.

I was toying with the idea of a hiatus, seeing as I'm already two comics behind and work shows no sign of letting up. We'll see how it goes during the week. Anyway you've got one strip at least this week, a rather tasty-looking Chip Shop Adventures #223. End the week and enjoy!

25/04/08 - Rats!

I won't make any promises about when I'll catch up with the other strip, it'll be an unexpected bonus like waking up in a river or finding a river on the moon, or just... rivers. I am tired, enjoy your weekend: Chip Shop Adventures #222

18/04/08 - Double Rats!

Oh dear, no comic this week I'm afraid my friends. I've been jammed solid with work so it's more than likely you'll get a double serving next week.

Instead, let me regale you with an incident showing off the very pinnacle of my ingenuity. I'd run out of pizza, and in a situation where you want pizza, nay crave it, that's no damn good. Rooting around at the bottom of the freezer I came across a party sized garlic bread rectangle. IN A GODDAMN FLASH, I'd smeared tomato puree over that mother and dotted some Herbs De Provence over it, slammed it in the over and in 15 minutes I was eating like a king. Remember, no matter how dark or hopeless life is, you can always have pizza. ALWAYS. LISTEN TO ME, ALWAYS.

Till next week, my dear friends.

NEVER FORGET.

11/04/08 - Rats!

I said it'd be up in the afternoon so I'm a little late for you UK guys but for the US? I'm off, SCOTTISH-FREE:Chip Shop Adventures #221

04/04/08 - Mystery solved.

Hope everyone's doing fine, another week on time! Not too shabby I think you'll agree. Hmm current events, current events... how about that politician huh? Or the weather! Dammit, enough with the chit-chat, SAVOUR THE GOODS: Chip Shop Adventures #220

28/03/08 - WHY?! NOOOoooooOOoo!

Chip Shop Adventures #219

5:20am, I've not got much to say other than my monitor gives me better business productivity, supposedly. You heard me.

21/03/08 - ULTIMATE WINTASTICA

Oh man, check this out. Updating on time with two strips, thus destroying the long-lingering backlog! Ahhhh that feels good! I hope you have an awesome Easter weekend, eat up a ton of eggs too.
It's been a couple years and I really should have made a new one but here's Easter-flavoured
Poor Little Bunny. Speaking of Flash cartoons, a new animal-based one should be ready in a month or so.

Chip Shop Adventures #217
Chip Shop Adventures #218

14/03/08 - WINilure

There's no way I'm getting this inked, let alone coloured for you guys tonight so check back some time Friday afternoon, TOODLES.
EDIT: BINGO: Chip Shop Adventures #216

07/03/08 - Double whammy.

Oh word. Well I managed two out of three which isn't two bad. I'll get workin on the other one for next week.

Chip Shop Adventures #214
Chip Shop Adventures #215

Also I've done a guest comic for The Land of Nodd, you can find that right about here: Land of Nodd guest comicThe tennis ball picture from last week is from one of the competitions I've entered which you can check out HERE. WARNING: CONTAINS GRAPHIC TENNIS RACKET ACTION

29/02/08 - Failure!

Another week of fail I'm afraid, been busy entering a couple of competitions and that takes time away from valuable chip shop making so put this in your diary: NEXT FRIDAY. THREE CHIP SHOP ADVENTURES.

I bid you good weekend.

22/01/08 - Trapped by solitare mahjong!

Sorry it's late, better late than snakes in your UNDIES.

Chip Shop Adventures #213

15/02/08 - First sun!

Oh Friday, here again: Chip Shop Adventures #212

08/02/08 - Grey hairs aplenty.

I've not had enough time to catch up completely but at least you've got one on time this week Chip Shop Adventures #211 Enjoy your weekend to THE SAMUEL FULLEST.

01/02/08 - Welcome to Febs.

"And then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I'll update next week with two chiiiiiiip shooops."

Those were the original lyrics, I goddamn swear it! Well it's not all bad, just half of what I promised this week: Chip Shop Adventures #210 Have a good one!

25/01/08 - Double-damn you Adam-Hart-Davis!

On the last leg of this work hopefully. I've barely got time to sleep, let alone do some chip shoppin, I'll make it up with double next week my friends.

18/01/08 - Sleep deppity-deprivation.

Expect the end of the world to follow because I do believe this Chip Shop is on time! Time to crawl into bed, like the crawling, bed-loving lizard that I am. Enjoy your weekend!

Chip Shop Adventures #209

11/01/08 - Friday win!

Like I said before, had a little work to do but hopefully there will be a comic right about here by the end of the day.
EDIT: Here it is pal, have yourself an awesome weekend and I'll see you next week!

Chip Shop Adventures #208

08/01/08 - Tuesday treat.

A sneaky Tuesday treat for those who are checking, here's the missing Chip Shop and I shall see you Friday but now that I'm all caught up, work is bound to blow up and throw me way off course again!

Chip Shop Adventures #207

04/01/08 - Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and New Years, just the one Chip Shop today, work has just been too much, I.O.U one more! Chip Shop Adventures #206.

28/12/07 - Come back Christmas!

No comic this week I'm afraid, Christmas and work are just too much, expect two next Friday if things all go to plan, until then keep filling yourself full of all that Christmas chocolate!

24/12/07 - Merry Christmas!

Very late, but just in time for Christmas. I was out for my sisters birthday and if you deny me that then we are through, I mean it! It's Christmas too, think of the kids. Let's not fight, let's just huddle around the warmth of Chip Shop Adventures #205. Have a good one!

Look at what this genius has made for me, for my secret santa over at Transplant Comics: Secret Santa from Joseph Hewitt! Joseph makes the classy Ataraxia Theatre so go over there and show him some Christmas love!

Also I have a guest comic up at Unlingual! Merry Christmas to all!

21/12/07 - Yah!.

Yah! Yah! Yah yah yah! Yah! Yah! (Christmas Chip Shop treats on Monday)
Chip Shop Adventures #204.

16/12/07 - Ah, precious sleeps.

Blame London Euston train station for making it two days late.
Chip Shop Adventures #203.

14/12/07 - Four days, no sleep.

Sorry folks, expect the comic tomorrow because work is murdering me to the deaths.

07/12/07 - Chilly, chilly days.

A week already? Plus it's December? Come on! Give me a break for once. I hate you Time. We will never be best buds. I'll never come over to your house on Sundays for a barbecue or hide a bloody candlestick for you when you drive over to my house at three in the morning, covered in your wifes blood.

Cynthia's blood. Forget you Time! It's Friday and here's Chip Shop Adventures #202.

30/11/07 - BACK UP IN YO' RESPECTIVE GRILLS.

Here we are, back once again. I hope you all enjoyed the guest comics that people made for you and I, many, many thanks to the creators! But now you're here for a brand new Chip Shop Adventure and that's what you're damn well getting.

You may notice something a little different about #201, not only is it 33% FATTER, I've been practising how I draw the characters and also with different pens so I can get some extra fine detail on the go. Don't waste time reading this, get your eyeballs pressed firmly against the screen and soak it up... VISUALLY! We can do that now, it's 2007.

Chip Shop Adventures #201.

23/11/07 - I'll get you next time, sleep.

I'm sorry pals, I don't have any guest comics for you this week and work is taking up every second of my time, however what I do have is a very pleasent surprise I found in my inbox, in the shape of Jordan Mooney's piece of fanart. He makes a comic called Professor Pigface's Lab so check that out and also the arts which will be housed in a new section that will appear very soon.

Jordan Mooney fanart

Chip Shop Adventures will return NEXT FRIDAY, be there or be square. And don't take the advice of Huey Lewis, it's not hip to have four sides.

16/11/07 - Guest comic #5.

Rock on! It's Friday and there's another guest comic for you, this time created by Dave! He has no last name, as last names are for scumbags. It could possibly be Dave again making him Dave Dave but that's irrelevant. However, what is relevant is his own comics that reside at SHRUMP. So enjoy your Friday with some added Dave!

Dave Guest comic.

12/11/07 - Guest comic #4.

Ho boy, look away today if you're a fan of The Bee! Guest comic #4 is brought to you by Marc de Wolf who makes comics and puts them onto the internet, such times we live in. He makes comics on his Roach Planet site and also Marbles with Govert van der Heijden so check out both the comics below and pop back on Friday when we'll have more guest comic goodness!

Marc de Wolf Guest comic.

09/11/07 - Guest comic #3.

Next up is Andreas Gustafsson who makes Invincible Jeff. Jeff is invincible but you know, he doesn't brag about it, he's a down to earth kinda guy who hates scientists just like you and me. Andreas has tapped into the chip shop owners meanness to bring you a great strip, don't take my words for it, peep it for yourself!

Andreas Gustafsson Guest comic.

Check back on Monday for some more guest stuffs!

07/11/07 - Guest comic #2.

The guest comic strip for today was created by Hajra Helac who makes the often insane and always entertaining Unlingual! I love it lots as it reminds me of 90's computer game story screens! Unlingual would make a great computer game from the 90's. Anyway, have a click on her banner and enjoy!

Unlingual Guest comic.

Visit on Friday for more guest comicy comic!

05/11/07 - Guest comic #1.

First up in this months line-up of guest comics and art is Shayna Marchese. Point your peepers at the very classy guest art she's created for me, it's like the cover to a novelisation! Then check out her wonderful comic Voids which is about a girl living in New york called Sara.

Shayna Marchese Guest art.

Come back on Wedenesday for more hot guest action!

02/11/07 - Takin' it easy.

And that my friends, is it, Chip Shop Adventures Scary month of Terror is over! Making half a years worth of strips in a month has battered the hell out of me so I'm going to be taking a three week break, but don't worry because some wonderful comic artists from all over the place have created some guest strips for my absence. So come back Monday and feast your eyes on some Chip Shop goodness not drawn by my tired, tired hands. I'd best start planning next years fun!

A larger than usual Chip Shop Adventures #200.

01/11/07 - Trick or treat!

Yes it's November now so technically the scary month of terror is over but you lucky scamps have two more comics left to the big 200 so I thought what the heckles:

Bloody kids.

Chip Shop Adventures #183.

09/10/07 - Hoooonk!

Chip Shop Adventures #182.

08/10/07 - When clowns attack.

Welcome back! First may I direct your attention to the white banner that's all over the place, if you click them, you'll be taken to a wondeful project for charity in which I and many other webcomic artists/writers have taken part.
The Kid's book Project is almost finished and a lot of pre-orders are still needed to make it work. I've contributed a full page of artwork and it's going to be well worth the low price that's being asked for it so please click on the banner and check out the site, look around the authors page to see if any of your favourite webcomics are taking part and order! Thanks very much guys and gals.

And second: Chip Shop Adventures #181.

Chip Shop Adventures #169.

10/08/07 - A complete lack of something to write here.

Welcome to Friday, I'm glad you could join us here on this most fried of Fridays and I hope you enjoy Chip Shop Adventures #168 because that's what my brain is telling me to put here. It might have some sort of masterplan behind it but I wouldn't worry too much as this morning it made me dream about viewing a heavy metal concert from a thin metal strip suspended high in the air. So high I couldn't hear what was happening. Didn't think that one through did ya brain? Sucker.

Till next time, enjoy the weekend.

03/08/07 - Oh man...

Last nights screening was great fun, weird to see Coffee Shop hell in public again. Thanks very much to everyone involved!

25/07/07 - Coffee Shop Hell Birmingham screening.

If you live in the Birmingham area and fancy seeing Coffee Shop Hell plus about 6 other short films by Midlands-based animators then come on down to the Midlands Arts Centre where I'll be introducing the film personally! It starts tomorrow (Thursday 26th July) at 7:30pm and tickets can be booked up to 3 hours beforehand. I have no idea what I'm going to say...

19/07/07 - No title for you!

Early update! No time to explain! Train to catch!Chip Shop Adventures #165.

14/07/07 - London taahn.

I stood up for half of yesterday, on trains, buses and at stations to London. But it was worth it! Had a great meeting about some future work. 18/05/07 - Gimme some of that sun dammit!

Here we have the chip shop from last Friday, Chip Shop Adventures #155 so I owe you one more for this week, expect a double update next Friday!

EDIT: Maybe you've heard the utterly stupid news about Chris Tarrant being arrested by four flak-jacketed police officers in a curry house for dropping some spoons on a table. Here's what the news would have you believe, you suckers! (Not for kids) Mad Tarrant props to Monosodium Chamboate and his mate for the idea.

11/05/07 - Worn out beyond beggers belief.

The music video work has taken up my time and I really don't want to rush chip shop for you guys so here comes Marc De Wolf to the rescue with a rude chip shop filler. Marc has a couple of comics so go visit Marbles and also Roach Planet

Big thanks to Amber Myer for the first piece of chip shop fan-art for my birthday last week:

Amber makes a webcomic too, called Killer Spoons.

04/05/07 - Nooo it are my birthday.

More gore in Chip Shop Adventures #154! Not only that but it's a double comic day for you my friends because I've done a guest strip for Chris Jones' fantastic Grumps!

I'm taking part in a book project, The Kids Book Project to be more specific, Over 50 webcomic artists are coming together and creating one page each for it and all proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish foundation who help terminally ill children. We need a lot of pre-orders to help make it happen, so if you're feeling cool and I know you are, head on over to the site via the banner below:

Enjoy your weekend!

(Go visit I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER? for awesome cats.)

I won't be able to update on Friday so here's your chip shop a little early: Chip Shop Adventures #150: The first sale of the year. Sorry, I don't have anything special for the 150th strip but rest assured, I'll get to work on something special for #200 seeing as it took me an age last time!

30/03/07 - Damn you clocks going back.

Oh word, it's the start of a fairly long story in Chip Shop Adventures #149: The Quest for Gazongas. Here's a piece of artwork too, I really need to update the art gallery because I've been going nuts with the tablet. BOOM it's a REDSHIRT

...and it comes in the fancy wallpapery sizes of 1280x780, 1280x1024 and 1600x1200.

Finally, could somebody please tell me when they started to thin Marmite? Last time I had Marmite on my toast it was thick and sludgy like tar and today I open a new jar up and it's thin and light brown. I want to know when this happened and why. I don't know why I want to know but if you work for Marmite or know someone who does then this information is probably readily available to you. I'm not knocking it, it tasted just the same. Have a great weekend!

04/03/07 - Damn you Spongebob Diner Dash.

It's still this week technically so I win this round, here's the comic that should have appeared on Friday: Chip Shop Adventures #145. and I also had a guest comic up at the wonderful Book of Biff which you know you should check out.

Also, well done Boston for blowing this way out of proportion. "The devices had been up in the cities listed for two weeks before the Boston incident occurred." Nice.

Expect todays comic later on due to christmas shopping rampage, wish me luck!
EDIT: Chip Shop Adventures #125 is all up in yo grill.

09/12/06 - WEEKEND TREAT.

A TEAPOT-TASTIC ADVENTURE!

It's not an epic, long animation (because it was made last night on a spur of the moment type deal) but it's still pretty damn cool and probably the cutest thing I will ever make. It loops around and is based on this Raspberry Soda comic by Beth who is not only cool, but she's no fool either. Which is a plus.

08/12/06 - The oldest trick in the book.

Here's a very sexy looking Chip Shop Adventures #124, it's chock-full of my favourite thing in the whole world! No Nautical Jones this Friday but I've been busy re-doing the earlier strips so that they'll all match, View the first 6 starting here.

IN OTHER NEWS: Scared Bee #5

06/12/06 - A cheap alternative to snow.

Chip Shop Adventures #123 captures that awkward moment when you reveal to your friends just where the hell you've been for the last few weeks.
Will hopefully have some Nautical Jones for you this coming weekends-eve!

01/12/06 - 15 hours of sleeps.

Sorry about the rather late Chip Shop Adventures #122, if it's any compensation, it does feature ass-smacking.
Trading Bee picture #4 will appear sometime tomorrow.

EDIT: and here it is, you kings and queens of the internets: Vote to see a Scared Bee

29/11/06 - Breadknifeality!

Return of the gore in Chip Shop Adventures #121 so those of you with the kind of disposition that gets you raving-mad-insane-nuts at some pixelly blood halfway through the nineties, LOOK AWAY FOR GOODNESS SAKE!

Possible delay on Friday's comic and Bee Trading picture because on Thursday I'll be shooting the second Tasmin Archer music video in a fancy museum.

24/11/06 - Saving the environment.

Oh man, some pure checkout rage in Chip Shop Adventures #120. Plus it's Friday so it must mean a brand new Scared Bee trading picture has been released: RIGHT HERE BABY.

22/11/06 - TOXIC CRUSADERS YO.

We're out and about in Chip Shop Adventures #119 this Wednesday and there's nothing you can do to stop us.

20/11/06 - Evil Monday.

Just a little update to say that 82 pages of comic book class has just been released in the form of the Transplanthology 1: At the End Everyone Dies. It's the perfect Christmas present for anyone who loves paper and ink.

17/11/06 - It's a hand-grenade.

Here's Chip Shop Adventures #118 to give you a Friday feeling of fooey and as promised, the next: Secret vote picture #2! Weekend all over your face.

15/11/06 - Just sawed Saw III, ho ho ho.

Chip Shop Adventures #117 contains the most fashionable man in the world. Plus if you've not voted here then chances are you won't have seen the cool picture I made for you. It'll disappear on Friday, replaced by a brand new one.

10/11/06 - Nobody can stop THEM!

Something new from this week onwards, if you vote me up over at the Top Webcomic list then you'll be rewarded with a super sneaky secret picture, huzzah!
So today we have a Secret vote picture #1 and the return of The Bee in Chip Shop Adventures #116!
Enjoy the end of the week!

08/11/06 - Paper-mache head.

If you like chips, shops, adventures, colour, guts, words or comics then you'll pass the hell out for Chip Shop Adventures #115!

03/11/06 - BOLLYWOOD FEAR.

Chip Shop Adventures #114 is raising awareness of a disease that gets little to no attention at all in the media. Shame on you media.
The links section has been updated with the Transplant comics so check them out if you've got a few minutes (or weeks, there are a lot of them) to spare. Enjoy your weekend!

01/11/06 - Get lost Halloween.

Ahh! Month number 11 has been a bit sneaky and jumped out of nowhere. No matter, because here's the bloodiest Chip Shop Adventure yet: Chip Shop Adventures #113.

31/10/06 - Happy Halloween!

That's it! I've finally caught up on the backlog of Chip Shop Adventures that built up during the making of #100.

So it's back to the normal Wednesday/Friday update schedule, I hope you've enjoyed all the one a day strips and here's Chip Shop Adventures #112. It's a much more obscure gaming reference today.

30/10/06 - LIVE SUNDAY NIGHT AMERICAN FOOTBALL.

Some more blood-soaked action in Chip Shop Adventures #111, hopefully with today's references I can snag some of that juicy gaming traffic.

Some nice big news today, Chip Shop Adventures has been taken under the sexy wing of Transplant Comics which means it'll be showcased alongside such jaw-punchingly good comics as
The Blaring Foghorn, Lonely Fetus, and Toy Division.

I also get a forum. So there's tons of fun to be had if you click the link below this newsbox. Check out the talent they have there, all under one roof, it's called Toys R Us.

27/10/06 - LIVE THURSDAY NIGHT AMERICAN BASEBALL.

Try and spot some more sneaky horror film references in today's Chip Shop Adventures #110.
I'm having far too much fun drawing this gory story so it may continue past Halloween on Tuesday.

26/10/06 - Thursday gore.

Continuing the zombie action: Chip Shop Adventures #109.

25/10/06 - Blank space.

Here's the start of a little horror based action story Chip Shop Adventures #108, try and spot some blatent Dario Argento inspired lighting.

24/10/06 - Dreams about not getting enough sleep.

Good morning! Break the fast with Chip Shop Adventures #107.

23/10/06 - Shield your eyes because...

Chip Shop Adventures #106 is here and in full colour! That's the way it'll be from now on (I've also gone back and coloured the strips from #101 onwards), thanks very much to the Chip Shop fans that emailed in with their views.

I'm still trying to catch up with the backlog of strips so like last week, there will be a shiny new comic everyday.

20/10/06 - Friday Ho!

Well it's been one week chock-full of Chip Shop Adventures and it'll be the same next week too so here's Chip Shop Adventures #105 to round off your week.

I've been playing around with changing the strip a little, here's today’s strip in colour, drop me an email if you think it’s the way to go, I'm still undecided.

I also popped Chip Shop Adventures #100 up on Newgrounds yesterday and it got 5th place and a spot on the front page so that's pretty slick, Check it out here.

19/10/06 - Shower, shower, shower.

Chip Shop Adventures #104 on a Thursday? You know it.

18/10/06 - Shower Day.

A wise man once said to me: ' Matthew, when you create Chip Shop Adventures #103, make up some story about some old man.

17/10/06 - We continue...

Chip Shop Adventures #102 showcases my awesome skills at drawing doctors that I didn't even know I had. Must be all the Diagnosis Murder I watch.

16/10/06 - George Orson Welles.

"You asked me once," said O'Brien, "what was in Room 101. I told you that you know the answer already. Everybody knows. The thing in Room 101 is Chip Shop Adventures #101."

Stay tuned (or whatever it is when you look at a webpage) all this week because Chip Shop Adventures is getting updated every weekday for two and a half weeks.

Also appearing today is a gory guest comic of mine for Steve Wallace's excellent The Devil and Ted.

13/10/06 - BACK FROM THE DEAD.

Chip Shop Adventures #100.

It's arrived at last, a fully animated, hand-drawn Chip Shop Adventure! There's a normal comic version too if you're some kind of hardcore Chip Shop Adventures purist, but make sure to look at the animated one first so you don't spoil it.

Also because it took me an ice age to draw (damn that Jackass’ jumper) there will be a Chip Shop Adventure comic strip every weekday until the backlog has caught up.

20/09/06 - Tasmin Archer single available from iTunes.

That's right folks, Tasmins new single is now available to download from iTunes for 79p! 79p is two bags of crisp! You don't need more crisps! You need Tasmin Archer singles!
Check the link below to go to her site, listen to some track samples and watch the video we made. iTunes Link.
Tasmin Archer website.

(Also, you become 50% cooler when you buy it). I realise there is now a backlog of Chip Shops so expect a SUPER UPDATE on Friday.

15/09/06 - Brain delays.

Apologies all round because I've had to delay Chip Shop Adventures #100 till Monday. Due to other work and parts of it not coming together very well, it's not looking it's best and only the primest of prime cuts go out to the CSA fans. So next week will have a crazy Mon - Wed - Fri update deal. To tide you over, here is a picture of Wilco, Pauls budgie.

13/09/06 - Animation rampage.

If you love a fat bee, then you'll love Chip Shop Adventures #99.

08/09/06 - Pills! Pills! Pills!

Illness has crept up on me, it came out of nowhere like... a surprise illness. Drawing the same thing about 80 times probably hasn't helped matters.

Artsfest: The Big Birmingham Weekend starts today! From today till Sunday, a huge variety of musicians, dancers, and screenings of short films will be happening all around the city centre and it's free! On Sunday they will be showing Coffee Shop Hell in a screening at 6pm in the Birmingham Library Theatre.

Artsfest: The Big Birmingham Weekend Link
Chip Shop Adventures #98

06/09/06 - Yen.

Chip Shop Adventures #97 features mild peril.

01/09/06 - Goodbye Summer.

You know the deal by now, one of these (Friday) = one of these: Chip Shop Adventures #96. Now divide it by a stupid September and show all your working out.

30/08/06 - Foiled by my face.

I've started work on Chip Shop Adventures #100 which should be something quite tasty, IN THE MEANTIME: Chip Shop Adventures #95.

25/08/06 - Smoking barrels.

If you're thinking of buying a DVD of the Jim Carrey film, The Majestic (rated PG) from Morrisons in Manchester, then you'll need some form of identification to show that you're over the age of 21 but luckily you won't need ID to view Chip Shop Adventures #94.

23/08/06 - Fast fast faster.

Chip Shop Adventures #93 because Wednesday + comic = Wednomic.

18/08/06 - Friday bag of fun.

You pass me by too fast, you stupid week! My only concern is that Chip Shop Adventures #92 will not work as well on your bath scum as Cillet Bang will. I've failed you all.

16/08/06 - Banana ants.

It's a big fat Wednesday, you know the score: Chip Shop Adventures #91.

11/08/06 - 90. 1990. Nine-teas.

It's Chip Shop Adventures #90 so here is a picture of a place that reminds me of the 1990's:

09/08/06 - Giant ear.

This morning, I suggest you flip a coin if it's heads then you should click THIS: Chip Shop Adventures #89. If it's tales then who cares, tales suck.

04/08/06 - Upside. Upside your head.

Two comics for your chilly Friday day:
Chip Shop Adventures #88.
Nautical Jones #15.

Also if you sign up to Tasmin Archers newsletter, then you can check out a preview of the music video I've animated for her.

02/08/06 - Toasty hot sun.

Month number 8 already? You bet, time is going faster thanks to Global Warming. The only thing that can stop that is Chip Shop Adventures #87.

28/07/06 - Spooky haunted house yo.

I'd almost forgotten it was Friday, I've been animating classic skeletons and ghosts all night.
Chip Shop Adventures #86 means you never have to say sorry.

26/07/06 - Easily the best Bond film.

So Roger Moore says "There seems to be some mistake. My name is..." and then Yaphet Kotto says "Names is for tombstones, baby! Y'all take this Chip Shop Adventures #85 out and waste him! NOW!

21/07/06 - Classic hotel action.

Some nice big news for all, Tasmin Archer is releasing a new album and single and I've been busy animating the video for it. Her website has just been updated with a sampler for the forthcoming album, called 'On', so I suggest you go check it out at this link right here: Tasmin Archer.

I wasn't able to update your faces with Chip Shop on Wednesday because I was too busy being baked alive on a delayed, packed train which had broken air conditioning. So for this Friday we have two adventures:

Chip Shop Adventures #83
Chip Shop Adventures #84

14/07/06 - Baby Bumblebees.

Chip Shop Adventures #82 can often be found rummaging through your bins at night so watch out. I SAID WATCH OUT.

12/07/06 - Toasty hot sun.

It's getting damn hot outside now so here's Chip Shop Adventures #81 to help you cool down and because that won't actually do anything to you, have an ice lolly:

07/07/06 - Tighten up the graphics.

I love sharks, so in this Fridays Chip Shop Adventures #80 there are none whatsoever.
In Nautical Jones #14 however, there are two.

05/07/06 - Thunder BOOM.

Hey! Ho! Whadya know? I KNOW PLENTY SUCH AS THIS: Chip Shop Adventures #79
If you don't know what camouflage is then it's lucky I found this old drawing of mine: CAMOUFLAGE.

30/06/06 - Coffee is only a dime.

It's the end of the week already so I'm throwing you Chip Shop Adventures #78 to start off your wonderful day. NEXT WEEK: A Flash movie...probably.

28/06/06 - You lose this round.

Have a Chip Shop Adventures #77 for your breakfast.
More olden days artwork from deep under my bed: CAVEMAN BATTLE.

23/06/06 - Half-Life 2 = Gaming Perfection.

ALWAYS START YOUR DAY WITH CAPITALS or something, LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU!
It's Chip Shop Adventures #76 and he knows you stole his batteries.

Basically if you like music and you like animation then you should buy Jim Ether's film: Alert because he puts the two together very well, many times over the course of its 87 minute running time.

21/06/06 - Come back Summer!

OH WHAT? Yeah that's right, Chip Shop Adventures #75 is on the loose. I've been clearing out a load of junk from my room and I found this, I think at age 6 I captured it better than Mel Gibson did.

16/06/06 - Come back Summer!

Happy Friday! What we're dealing with here is possibly my favourite Chip Shop Adventure yet:
Chip Shop Adventures #74 Not only that but here's the start of something big:

Nautical Jones #12.
Nautical Jones #13.

Really big.

14/06/06 - Castle Master (1990) yo.

Huge props, the size of a fat whale, to Slack Video for last nights screening of my work, BUT NOW: Chip Shop Adventures #73. Expect a seafaring treat on Friday.

12/06/06 - Hull Film Screening.

Bit short notice but if you're about in Hull tonight then Slack Video are having their 3rd Birthday Party.

A whole range of short films and live musical and visual treats will be on offer as well as two of my short films, Coffee Shop Hell and The Cat That fell over. For more info, click this banner softly:

09/06/06 - Damn you ants.

Here is what I think is called a comic: Chip Shop Adventures #72. Have yourself a great weekend full of wonderful things such as pasta.

07/06/06 - Ducktales...awoowhoo.

Illness = late update. Finally the weather is getting nice and warm, which is probably the best condition to enjoy Chip Shop Adventures #71. No foolin'.

02/06/06 - 2nd day of Summer don't you know.

Another big number today, Chip Shop Adventures #70. If you're 70 years old then that's one Chip Shop Adventure for every year you've been alive. Neat.

31/05/06 - Prison Broked.

A video game themed Chip Shop Adventures #69 is here for you.

29/05/06 - WELCOME TO VIOLENCE.

Here it is, a brand new gory Flash cartoon called:

HOW TO BE EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH.

It's got my biggest cast yet, Paul Willis, Sheena B, Mike Plant and Monosodium Chamboate and I'm off to eat some pizza now. A big thanks to Emi Kasai and Mike Vokes for the Japanese translation!

27/05/06 - Drooling on the keyboard.

Apologies for the freaky Saturday update, I've been doing some other work during the week and it's burnt me out so the John flash cartoon is almost finished, it'll be online on Monday.
Chip Shop Adventures #68 is available though, a day late perhaps but unlike real chips, these won't get mouldy or stink up your kitchen.

24/05/06 - Coffee drops.

Everything's going well for the Friday Flash cartoon so expect some gore round about then. Take Chip Shop Adventures #67 four times a day to see off that nasty cough.

19/05/06 - Toothpaste won't hold bricks together.

Another Chip Shop Adventures #66 for your beautiful eyes to behold. I'm going to work like a maniac on the John cartoon to get it ready for next Friday because I haven't updated any Flash for ages, like a stone cold sucker.

17/05/06 - Where's my sun gone?

If you dig my short cartoon Coffee Shop Hell and want to own it on a shiny disc then you can pre-order a copy of TEN4 magazine (Issue 3). It's got a free DVD on the cover with Coffee Shop Hell and a whole bunch of class animations and short film work from people in the West Midlands.

CLICK HERE to go to their shop to pre-order the magazine.

IN OTHER NEWS: Chip Shop Adventures #65 appeared right in front of your eyes.

10/05/06 - Orange juice it up.

Oh what a late update. I'm ill and it's probably what those guys had in the documentary Outbreak so keep away. I will throw you this from the upstairs window: Chip Shop Adventures #64.

10/05/06 - BORN IN THE USA.

As promised here are 7 new Misc. comics from WEEKEND
and also Chip Shop Adventures #63.

05/05/06 - Painting pigeons purple.

It's a return to normality in this Friday's Chip Shop Adventures #62.

03/05/06 - Foreigners + Flash animation = Comedy gold.

It's my birthday tomorrow but I'm the one with a present for you: Chip Shop Adventures #61.
Also expect some more Misc. comics to be added this time next week, after a huge weekend on par with this:

DO NOT TELL ME YOU FORGOT ABOUT THE WORLD LEAGUE OPENER OF '91?!

28/04/06 - Moose Revolution.

I got into a taxi the other day that was like a miniature moving home, the upholstery looked like wallpaper. It didn't have Chip Shop Adventures #60 inside it though and for that it gets a D-.

26/04/06 - Back to Bristol

Once again I'm completely sleep deprived and working on several projects at once, I think it's time for a break when you could have sworn you just saw the keyboard keys bobbing up and down by themselves.

I only wish reading Chip Shop Adventures #59 would grant me magical powers.

21/04/06 - Cereal boxes are the best boxes.

Chip Shop Adventures #58.
We've updated the Chip Shop Adventures layout a little, adding Archive and Random buttons into the mix. Also if you want to bookmark Chip Shop in your favourites then this is the link to use:
Click here then bookmark. That way you’ll always be taken straight to the freshest adventure.

19/04/06 - Jim Rockford eats tacos for breakfast.

Poor Little Bunny did really well at Newgrounds over the Easter weekend, it got daily 3rd place and around 33,600 views so a big hippo-sized thanks to whoever decided it went on the frontpage!

TODAY: A rather mean Chip Shop Adventures #57.

14/04/06 - Happy Easter!

I hope huge chocolate Easter eggs rain upon you and fall inside your mouth!
Chip Shop Adventures #56.

BIG FAT EDIT: A late Easter present in the form of a Flash cartoon called:
Poor Little Bunny.

11/04/06 - RIGHT ON TIME.

This depressing winter has gone on too long, I'm all for rain, thunder and greyness but this is ridiculous. Much like this sunshine styled Chip Shop Adventures #55.

07/04/06 - Work update.

I'm working on three Flash animations at the moment inbetween adjusting the rough cut of the Tasmin Archer music video. One is the third Stupid Tomato cartoon, the second is about John from Coffee Shop Hell and will give you a glimpse into his dayjob, that one has voices by Paul Willis, Sheena B and Mike Plant plus special guest DJ Monosodium Chamboate.

The third is a very abstract piece of work that's a bit of an experiment, creating it with a friend, batting the ideas back and forth between us and it's becoming quite strange.

Anyway, the John cartoon will probably be online within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, have a good old chew on Chip Shop Adventures #54 and a new old-looking Nautical Jones #11.

05/04/06 - April?!

Some class news about a screening of Coffee Shop Hell, it'll be shown at the Britspotting film festival in Berlin, not only that but it’s being shown with a piece of work done by one of my favourite animators, Phil Mulloy!

I'd best have a sit down and draw Chip Shop Adventures #53 TOO LATE.

31/03/06 - I will buy sleep from you.

3:05am: I crave sleep! But I will share a smutty Chip Shop Adventures #52 with you because I'm just that nice.

29/03/06 - Guano.

Wednesday already? It must be so as there are bats all over my doorstep, so to you, Wednesday bats, I say SUCK ON THIS: Chip Shop Adventures #51.

24/03/06 - Perhaps you'd like to see some live bands?

I didn't think I'd ever draw this many but here we are!
It's Chip Shop Adventures #50: The price of friendship!

Today is a bit special so we also have a whole new comic section online with strips based on the events of a particularly heavy weekend out. The new Misc. comics section awaits you!

Coffee Shop Hell will be shown as part of the SeeEasyCinema premiere at The Firefly in Worcester, it's a showcase for regional filmmakers so if you're in the area, it starts at 8pm on Monday 27th of March. Also two short films made by Mike Plant will be starting off the screening.

22/03/06 - Whales AND dolphins? Whales AND dolphins, yeah!

We're getting closer to that oh-so-magic number but not quite close enough, you'll have to make do with the next best thing: Chip Shop Adventures #49.

17/03/06 - I want more free DVDs in the papers this weekend.

What ho chaps! There's no doubt about it, Friday's here and with great Fridays comes great responsibility or something. No cat likes responsibility but he might like Chip Shop Adventures #47 and maybe even Chip Shop Adventures #48.

15/03/06 - The week Harold Bishop lost his mind.

The apocalypse is bound to follow! It's enough to make you want to read Chip Shop Adventures #46 which is in a bit of a specialist area this Wednesday. Also updated the artwork section with a black and white piece I've done, click the pic below for a cheeky peep.

What's that over there, way in the distance? Well it's an overdue Nautical Jones #10!

10/03/06 - I need a tree that grows padded envelopes.

The music video is almost finished, I'll create a new section for it with photos of the green screen shoot when it's done. Also had lots of good news about people wanting to screen my work this week which should be fun like jelly on a plate.

It's an extremely cold Friday but that won't stop a rather twisted Chip Shop Adventures #45 from getting to your door and stealing all your cake. Why don't you click below?

08/03/06 - Easter eggs are coming, I can feel it in the air.

Lordy! It's the epilogue to the ghostly storyline with Chip Shop Adventures #44. It's back to good ole' fashioned unpredictable nonsense on Friday!

REMEMBER:

03/03/06 - Who you gonna' call? Ghostbu...no, Super Mario. Quick, water's getting everywhere.

Today I'm directing the live-action parts of the music video I've been working on, we're using a green screen so should be lots of imaginary fun.
Just like Chip Shop Adventures #42. and Chip Shop Adventures #43.
Best enjoy them with a cup of tea and three biscuits.

Make that four.

01/03/06 - Goodbye winter!

I hope everyone had pancakes last night or else the Pancake God will smite yo ass to pieces. Make it up to him by reading Chip Shop Adventures #41.

24/02/06 - Brrrrrrr.

I'm working flat out on animation for a music video so only Chip Shop Adventures #40 for this snowy Friday.

Coincidently, here's an old photo of the greatest snowman ever created on the face of this earth. I made him in 1990 and he's currently handling disputes in the construction industry for a reasonable price.

22/02/06 - Evil Angler fishy.

Here's the next Chip Shop Adventures comic.

17/02/06 - Lizards all around me.

I've decided I'll update the comics twice a week now, on Wednesday and Friday and today being the second best day of the week (Thursday's the best because it's grey, no arguing), we've got the next
2 instalments of Chip Shop Adventures and
1 new flash animation Hypnotic Grass #1.

A big barrel of THANKS to my good friend Mike Plant who got Coffee Shop Hell up on the IMDB!

10/02/06 - Golden sunny Friday!

Had a week full of animator missions but now it's time to relax and enjoy the next part of the Chip Shop Adventure and another abstract Nautical Jones. We've also updated the links section.

03/02/06 - Humming bank striplights.

It's Friday! As a reward why don't you take one of these:
1 New Flash cartoon Stupid Tomato Stunt #2
and one of these:
1 New Chip Shop Adventure comic
and finally for dessert:
1 New Nautical Jones comic.
Thanks suckers!

27/01/06 - Super Friday update.

From now on I'll be updating the site every friday, this week it's 3 magical Chip Shop Adventures. Next week a new gory Flash cartoon will be ready for your faces.

21/01/06 - Brand spankin' new doodles.

Happy 21st of January! Have 6 new Nautical Jones comic strips for tea.

24/12/05 - Magical Christmas Zombies.

Coffee Shop Hell now has it's own page at the BBC Film Network site which is well worth signing up to if you're into short films, thanks very much to everyone involved with sorting that out!
Film Network Coffee Shop Hell page
